Raspberry Pi Wireless Airplay Hack

Jordan Burgess posted how to turn your Raspberry Pi into a wireless airplay receiver:

The raspberry pi is fully functional credit card-sized computer that is cheap enough ($25) that it can be used just for a single purpose. With this hack the computer imitates an airplay speaker, making it possible to send songs over to an old stereo wirelessly from your phone.

Explaining the Solar Installation Cost Difference Between the U.S. and Germany

From MIT Technology Review:

In 2011, residential solar system installers paid a little over $1.80 per watt for solar panels in both Germany and the United States. In Germany, installers added $1.20 to the cost of the solar panel to complete an installation. But in the U.S., they tacked on $4.36 per watt, more than three times as much.

Facebook’s New Product: Allow Non-friends to Message You for $1

Facebook announced Thursday that it is testing a new option to charge users a one-time fee of $1 to send a message to another user’s inbox on the network who they aren’t friends with.
